About Me
I’m actually a Couchsurfing old-timer, but the system doesn’t recognize me for some reason. I used to host folks when I lived in Philadelphia—shout to all the surfers who brought the world to me when I couldn’t travel! Poland, Slovenia, Ukraine Germany, and Minnesota and Oregon and more ...
PhD in sociology, then a consultant for IBM and now a professional researcher/data guru at Google. I’m in a new phase in my life and looking to reconnect with the world that I fell in love with two decades ago.
I love art—whether in a museum, on the street, or spontaneously made. Literature, music, dancing—all yes! I also love a quiet afternoon at a cafe thinking about what it all means and what I should be doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m traveling to Budapest! I think Couchsurfing is such an amazing way to meet people and get to know a city.

Yes all of it :D Maybe let’s just connect Spotify?
My favorite books include Catch-22, Master and Margarita, and Jane Eyre.
My favorite movies include Secretary, Japon, and The Avengers ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Almaty (Kazakhstan) for two years and taught myself Russian. It is not perfect, but I love practicing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’ve taught a lot! Crime and punishment, policing in America, statistics, war in the western world, now about how to access and analyze big data, and now a lot of professional mentorship and coaching.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cleanliness, English practice (for them), French/Russian practice (for me), cooking (I’m good!), and a caring presence.
