I am retired, and a former English professor. I lived in San Francisco for a solid 26 years, and have lived in New York City on and off for the rest of my life. I am open minded, liberal, Love politics and the arts, and I don’t take myself very seriously. I can’t cook.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a music fanatic! Love small, unheard- of bands, punk, jazz, opera, country, cumbia, mariachi, popular music. Favorite book? Probably “One Hundred Years of Solitude.” Favorite movie? Probably “Irma LaDouce” or anything from Billy Wilder’s later work. Love old film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Uh....overcoming heartbreak? I think it was amazing that I was allowed to get a doctorate. But some people know me for a long time without knowing I am over educated! I sang with a band for a while, even though I have no talent. But I suppose these things are brave, rather than amazing.
