My name is Elaine and I'm originally from the green Welsh countryside. I lived in London for six years before moving to Limburg.

I study (mostly) Russian cultural history and in the last few years have been making my way through a long list of classic Soviet films. But I really enjoy learning about places all over the world and the people who live there.

For a long time I was a very insular person but in the last year or so I have been conquering my fear of meeting and connecting with new people - and it's become a practice I would like to live by! The open generosity and trust of the people I've met on couchsurfing (and some outside of CS) has made me think that living in a different way in this world is possible. I want to become more open, trusting and willing to share with everyone.
