About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live, love, learn.

ABOUT ME

I'm a real Celt, having Scottish and Irish parents, and I lived in Wales for 7 years. Born in England, though! I'm easy going and have a wicked/dry sense of humour. I'm the oldest of six children (4 girls, 2 boys). That's one of my sisters down at the bottom in my friends list. I'm a self confessed geek and gamer, in the best possible way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a fair number of people in the past, and couchsurfed myself in several countries. I have a housemate currently and can't host, but I still like to get out and about and meet people.

Interests

I love books, music, movies, and a curious, inquisitive nature. I'm a complete knowledge hound, and if something gets my interest, I'll devour anything I can find online or in books about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

So much, so many. My shelves are crammed with books. A hefty chunk is sci-fi, then there's John Grisham, Dan Brown, Terry Pratchett, Lee Child, Anne McCaffrey, MaryJanice Davidson, Charlaine Harris, Jane Green, Stephen King, JK Rowling, Bill Bryson... the list goes on and on.

My music tastes are really eclectic, as my MP3 collection will attest to. I've got everything from cheesy disco to goth rock on there, on permanent shuffle.

I'm a complete cinemaholic too, and get lots of use out of my cinema card!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing Ephesus in Turkey. Standing at the edge of the 'cotton castles' of Pamukkale on the same holiday. Both absolutely breath-taking.

Flew to America in 2002 to stay with friends who I'd only met online. Turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. Three years later I was playing tour guide to them in London. Four years later, I was best man (best woman?) at their wedding.

Went to Egypt for two weeks, booking only my first two night's accommodation, then played everything else by ear. Met so many people, and had so many great experiences. Best. Holiday. Ever.

Countries I’ve Visited
