About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get people to love Jerusalem and the people who live in it.

ABOUT ME

I am a bit of a nerd. I play the piano (classical music) and like learning new languages, eating good food (but it has to be kosher) and meeting interesting people. I love travelling across the world and discovering new destinations, but they have to have a toilet. And a hot shower, if possible.

PHILOSOPHY

This world is magnificent, and filled with fascinating people. I am an observant Jew, so religious practice also gives substance to my life, I feel. I'd love to explain further, if you're curious.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would be glad to host you in my most holy home-town, and show you what 3000 years of history look like. And we could also get a beer :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined, so I don't have one yet.

Interests

watching movies, cooking, playing the piano, singing, learning new languages, reading good books, hiking in beautiful places and wandering around well-organized supermarkets.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything made by Woody Allen (I am Jewish, after all). I found Zelig amazingly brilliant.
Books: I love Paul Auster's books. And our very own David Grossman. I am currently reading Hans Fallada's Jeder stirbt fur sich allein (in Hebrew translation) and finding it dark, troubling, and very interesting.
Music: Classical. Schubert, Dvorak, Beethoven, Bach. I also like the Beatles and Aretha Franklin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I bungee jumped in New Zealand.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like teaching languages. Arabic, Hebrew and English are my strongest. I can also tell you a thing or two about Judaism and Islam and we can chat endlessly on Middle East politics.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Palestine, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Israel
