If I could describe myself in one word, and I probably can, it's "curiouser." I find most things interesting, even some things I previously never found interesting, making it easy for me to converse with most people.

I don't think I'm bigoted or prejudiced against anyone except people who can best be described as assholes. An example would be Donald Trump, a horrible excuse for a human being. Thankfully, most people are not like him.

My tastes in music, drama, art, history, crafts, movies, TV, yadda, yadda, and yadda, cover a large swath of territory.

My health ain't terrific. After all, I'm at an age where just a few decades back, most American white males had died six years previous. Diabetes and arthritis are the banes of my existence. I try to overlook them and muddle on regardless.

When I worked, my career was in writing and editing -- news, PR, instruction, professional journal articles, and technical stuff. It is a career path that pays little and experiences mass layoffs. By the time I qualified for Social Security, I had little in the bank, and that disappeared after one or two unfortunate encounters with unscrupulous people. So now I live pretty well on my small pension, rent support, utilities support, food banks, and some wonderful cultural programs in Portland, Oregon, where I chose to live. I am now studying for an English As A Second Language Certificate, which I hope to use to make my way to China for six months or a year. I can't go for a while because I have two aging dogs I would never think of leaving behind.

兴趣

I used to be a fair draftsman and painter and photographer. I still carry a camera, but my strength and coordination keep getting worse, and I have yet to solve that problem and get back in the groove. I still write -- serio-comic playlets for a program on a local community radio station that probably reaches about 6,000 people.

I like most music, though hardly any of what plays on radio currently. I attend classical concerts, modern dance recitals, and plays. I don't go to many movies these days because my hearing isn't good enough for the sound systems. I watch them on the cable channels or Netflix instead. I have too many favorite movies so shall name just three: Godfather I and II, Fitzcarraldo, and Some Like It Hot.
