About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live to my full potential

ABOUT ME

Trying to live an ecofriendly life. I love the outdoors; staying healthy; being active; vegan; social, political, legal, and ethical philosophy; latin american issues and cultures; anything Colombian; cycling; hiking; literature; creative writing; fitness; stair climbing; track and field; chess; good conversations; traveling; meeting new people.

I'm Colombian (so Spanish is my native tongue), learned to speak English in the US (New Hampshire), and am learning Japanese at the moment ;-) I'm 30, love to dance, eat, and clip my toe nails.

PHILOSOPHY

To actualize my essence and individual/social potential in existence, in real life. This includes pretty much fine tuning and sharpening every psychological, emotional, physical, mental, social, and intellectual ability of my being. I want to become fully human. I want to overcome myself and give birth to a new me over and over again while I am alive because I may not ever be born again.

"If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life - and only then will I be free to become myself."
~ Martin Heidegger ~

"I am a wanderer and mountain climber, he said to his heart, I do not love the plains, and it seems I cannot sit still for long. And whatever may still overtake me as fate and experience – it will be a wandering and a mountain climbing; in the end one experiences only oneself."
~ Friedrich Nietzsche ~

"He allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves."
~ Gabriel Garcia Márquez ~

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ran up the Sears Tower TWICE with an hour of rest between the firs and second time. Total steps 4,218, total flights 206, total time 40 minutes 28 seconds.

Swam in the Ecuadorian Amazon river.

Stalked a geisha through the streets of Kyoto.

Have lived with 65 people in total of all ages, complexions, ethnicities, sexual orientations, professions, education, cultures, (almost all) continents, political affiliations, religious affiliations, and who've spoken a multitude of languages.

I can't believe I have couch surfed over 30 times in my life and I JUST stumbled upon this global community. Better late than never.
