ABOUT ME

Hi everyone !

My name is Eléa and I'm a first year university student. I'm half Romanian, half Algerian (I know it doesn't look so), but according to my passport and my taste for croissants, I am French indeed.

I started CS at the age of 4 with my family, but as I started travelling independently, I decided to create my own account.

MOST NOTABLE COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCES

I had my first CS experience with a Catalonian couple and their daughter in Lleida (Spain), who I had numerous exchanges with, and we are still in touch nowadays.
In summer 2014, we made a family trip all around Europe by car and CS, Paris-Marseille-Velo d'Astico-Ljubljana-Senta-Dimitrovgrad-Pomorie-Bucharest-Timisoara-Zsambok-Bratislava-Rehetobel-Luxembourg.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I consider CS as an alternate way to travel, which can offer deeper and more meaningful experiences. I was initiated from an early age to hospitality exchanges, which is probably why my taste for this lifestyle got even more intense years after.
The best travel experiences I had were always the ones that make you get fully in touch with the culture and locals. This exposure to alterity, difference, constant learning, makes travels so exciting and intellectually stimulating, and I consider CS as a way to achieve this purpose.

I am not looking for a luxury hotel, but rather for hosts to share what they know, how they live, how they view the world, hear their stories and experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fled on my own to Baku at the age of 16 :))
700km of hitchhiking through France and Germany in two days !

On a lighter note :
As a child, me and my sisters used to perform dancing shows all around Europe for each host. We did not, however, become world famous eventually, but at least we tried x)

Teach, Learn, Share

INTERESTS :

Piano, music, books... I'm an art lover, I love photography, museums, paintings, cinema... I'm quite interested in street art and I've been wanting to do a street art collage for a while but I haven't motivated myself enough for now but it's still part of my projects !

I really enjoy fighting sports, I do boxing and I just started MMA, but fear not, I'm not good yet and I'm probably the most pacific person you'll ever meet !

I know a few things about DJing and beatmaking, I love to dance (not well but I still dance).I haven't really had the occasion to explore that much but I find urbex (exploration of abandoned places) really fascinating.

I love debating, discussing controversial topics and opinions, playing the devil's advocate and trying to get out of my mental comfort zone by considering perspectives which I'm not familiar with.
I'm also part of a fantastic youth organization called the European Youth Parliament.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help you with your French and English, cook French dishes for you, and I can sing with/for you and play the piano if you have one, share travel stories
