About Me

ABOUT ME

I believe every place is worth exploring and every person is worth knowing. Diversity, equity and inclusion are values I care about deeply.

I am an artist. Friends describe me as a fun, creative, affectionate, approachable, intellectual, resourceful, adventurous, open-minded person. I love food, dogs, travel, learning and art. I love a challenge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be inspired! To learn new things and meet interesting people through an authentic experience. also, to travel without breaking the bank.

Interests

I am an artist/ curator/ professor/director and run an artist-run gallery in Brooklyn. I love looking at art in studios and museums. I love meeting other bi-cultural people (I'm Greek-American: I am 100% Greek but I look 0% Greek. So it's interesting how I am perceived by people in my community and outside of it). I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. I also love to do the following things but don't get to do them very often: sailing, water skiing, snow skiing,(I was formerly a gymnast and diver). I love meeting new people. I love learning about other cultures. I love wine and food. I love adventures and laughing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

one? why limit it!?

-I went to Pune, India with a friend I made in graduate school. She is from there. We flew to Mumbai which is a 3.5 hour drive from Pune. When we arrived at the airport, about 30 family members were there to greet us!!!!!!! They took 5 vans and left Pune at 5am to meet us and greet us!!!!!!!!!! This left a huge impact on me. When I live in a far away place for an extended period of time, I'm lucky if one family member picks me up (sometimes it's a friend) and I usually wait a long time for their arrival. My understanding of Indian culture and family life began then. It was life changing.

-Looking at the Tetons in Wyoming.

-Standing in front of an early Cy Twombly drawing.

-Moab, Utah: awe inspiring landscape and off-roading fun!

-Epic sunsets on the island of Captiva, Florida
