About Me

Hello!
My name is Eleanor. I'm still fairly new to the surfing community, but have had some incredible experiences so far. I am young circus professional specializing in aerials (trapeze, aerial fabric, aerial lyra). I finished up circus school in May and have been working and preforming in Cape Cod, MA (USA) since. It is my dream to work and study in Europe for the next step in my career. I find the circus work that comes out of Europe to be especially potent and captivating, it has truly inspired me! I have a small aerial dance company and also an acrobatic parter that I travel and perform with often.
I'm super goofy when you get to know me, a tiny bit shy at the very start. I love to laugh and run instead of walk and value honest conversation and genuine people so dearly. I am very open minded (I respect all kinds of lifestyles, orientations, political and religious views) and I find I am quite trusting and endlessly loving.
I am also very passionate about nourishing, nutritious food. I'm a non-dogmatic vegetarian who loves local and sustainably grown food. I am also working constantly at conditioning my body for my art. Love me some pull ups in the park or morning yoga. Care to join?
Unfortunately I feel the need to note that I am a lesbian and I am happily in a committed relationship - please be respectful of this before accepting to stay with me or host me. *LGBT friendly*
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the philosophy behind Couchsurfing. I love the idea of getting to know my hosts as people and having an expert local perspective on the area I am exploring. I believe that human connection is what life is all about so what better way to meet awesome new people and explore the world?!
Interests
Traveling gives me the greatest joy! I love exploring new places, seeing natural wonders and bustling cities, I love the anticipation of what could be around the next corner. I love surrounding myself in local culture. I find I am happiest traveling, or planning my next trip. So far I have mostly traveled the United States, but I am so looking forward to becoming a world traveler.
I have been a dancer since my youth, I love dance and, of course, circus, especially contemporary circus.
I am a very crafty person. I love painting with watercolor, taking photographs, building crafts and costumes. You can always find me doodling on nearby napkin.
I am very active and love outdoor sports. I love cycling, hiking, kayaking, a run on a crisp morning, figure skating (I was a competitive skater for much of my youth!), skiing, snowboarding, surfing, climbing trees (should be a sport, yes?!), roller skating, and anything else you can think of.
I love playgrounds, especially at night when they are deserted. I love a slow latte at a cafe. I love grocery shopping. I love being near the ocean or on top of a mountain. I love animals of all varieties.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love any music I can dance to! Especially big band music. I have an old cassette player and collect cassette tapes, my most treasured tape is my Bille Holiday.
I like movies, but I only watch them very occasionally. I just watched Amelie for the first time, it was amazing!
As for books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Poisonwood Bible, Brave New World, Of Mice and Men, Harry Potter, The Night Circus, The Neverending Story...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I started my own aerial dance company!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach! I teach at a childrens circus summer camp and love it. Sharing what you love and experiencing success with each individual student is like nothing else in the world.
I would love to share any of my skills with you! I have lots of knowledge about circus arts and movement and body care. Want to learn to juggle? Want advice on stretching routine? I'm your girl!
I LOVE to learn new things. I love the process of learning itself. It's a beautiful thing, that transition from beginner to experienced, the highs and lows of failure and success, it's both humbling and enlivening. We should never stop seeking knowledge!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share any of my skills and experiences with my hosts. I would love to get to know them, to share many smiles and hopefully some good conversation and laughs. I am more than happy to help out around their space and watch over children or pets during my stay.
