CURRENT MISSION

I quit my job in November 2013 in order to travel full time for a year. Since then I've spent a month in Buenos Aires studying Spanish, and a month in Antarctica. I'm now exploring my way north up the Andes, hiking, camping, and seeing beautiful places.

ABOUT ME

I quit my job in November of 2013 to travel for a while in South America. I am loving the opportunity to travel slowly, see small towns off the beaten path, and get to know this part of the world intimately.

PHILOSOPHY

Much of this current trip for me is about learning to say YES to adventure, and to push myself in new ways. Adventures in the last several months include:

- Learning Spanish for a month in Buenos Aires and living with a family there
- Spending a month on a small sailboat in Antarctica (SO amazing!)
- Hiking the southern-most trek in the world on Isla Navarino in Chile, one of the most technically challenging hikes I've ever done
- Hiking the W in Torres del Paine alone (with a headcold!)
- Hitchhiking the length of the Carretera Austral, a dirt highway through some of the remotest parts of Patagonian Chile

兴趣

I love camping, hiking/trekking, and being outdoors. I'm a pretty big nerd about natural history, and lots of people mistake me for a geologist or biologist.

I work professionally as a writer, so it is both exciting and humbling to be learning Spanish. I just want to be great at it already!
