About Me
CURRENT MISSION
DO FUN!
ABOUT ME
Went to school in Pittsburgh and graduated a few years ago. Lived a while in Virginia but have been in Madison Wisconsin since 2015. I'm easily enthused and always looking for something fun to do.
PHILOSOPHY
Universal truths:
Doing other people good usually ends well for everyone.
Cooking is the only true transmutation, meals are more than just the sum of their parts.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a couple people and surfed a couple times. Sadly I have left the great couchburgher community but would love to see some CSers down here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted some, surfed some, and taken part in a couple of the community gatherings
Hopefully, more is coming. Everything so far has been pretty cool though.
Interests
I am a swammer, past tense, though I still occasionally swim/race. I absolutely love FOOD, talking about food, reading about food, MAKING food... I find an interest in food a universal connecting point. I like bicycling, ultimate and disc golf, racquetball. Long conversations including multiple tangential paths? In all honesty, most anything can take all my attention.

Music, Movies, and Books
I watch most any movie I can get my hands on, although, I don't really like many of them, more I think i'm just trying to assimilate all of them because I hate not knowing what someone might be talking about. Music wise, I like whatever feels like it matches my mood for the time, so a pretty much everything answer for that as well. Recently, leaning more towards folk music. Books: If I read fiction, it is either fantasy or science fiction. More often, I read non-fiction on whatever thing interests me for the time being. It just seems more useful to me in most cases.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A friend and I rode our bikes from my apartment in Pittsburgh to his friend in DC down through the entirety of the outer banks finishing at home in Raleigh. Lots of great camping with a few really crappy nights [MOSQUITOS] but overall a great experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can probably show most people a few things about cooking. I know a lot about swimming technique. I guess now I can have intelligent discourse about medicine too.
Share: To fully enjoy a meal, it must be experienced with others.
Learn: Where to begin... If you would like to impart your expertise on anything, I would love to accept it. What I would love to hear more about are in depth bike maintenance, bike touring advice, Frisbee throwing, the way someone else lives, and of course, food knowledge of any kind.
