About Me
Hey, I'm Elena! I grew up in various parts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, but ski racing and research gigs have allowed me to work, play, and learn around the world. I studied Environmental Earth Science and Middle Eastern studies for my bachelors degree, and continue to study the intersection of human societies and the natural world. Two years ago, I worked on ice core research that brought me to Antarctica for a 6-week field season. This past year I have lived half in Israel and half in Palestine looking at the socio-political implications of land and water management. I am a lover of all things outdoors, hiking, camping, biking, sitting, playing with dirt...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have learned so much from meeting people around the world. The ability to leave home is a privilege, and I want to do my best to show up in new spaces in the best way I can. Part of that to me means engaging with people who live in and care about the places I land- hearing their stories, sharing our food and music, and giving a helping hand when needed. Couchsurfing opens up so many opportunities for this kind of experience.
