About Me

I think of myself as friendly and open-minded, and of course I love travelling and experiencing new places. I have to say though, I'm not the stereotypical loud and outgoing Italian. I'm more of a quiet, intellectual person and I love reading and making conversation. I have lived in quite a few different places and I mean to keep going for a while still - there's so much I haven't seen!
I'm a psycholinguist (which sounds scary but it's really not - unless you write it with a space in between), which means I investigate what happens in people's brains when they process language. It's extremely interesting but I don't bore people with it unless they ask me to :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I choose to trust people and I'm convinced that they make up 90% of a place's character. I want to experience things like a local and share what I know with others.
Also I believe connections and personal relationships between people who come from different backgrounds is what is going to save the human race from annihilation. Just keeping it casual :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: rock and hard rock (AC/DC, Bowie, White Stripes, etc), some heavy metal bands (early Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden), the occasional pop song
Movies: comedies, drama, action movies (especially Marvel superheroes!), absolutely no horror movies, musical (love Grease and the Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Books: just about anything, especially classics, older fantasy books (LOTR to speak plainly), feminist writers, thrillers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a kid I thought if I concentrated hard enough I could move objects with my mind like Roald Dahl's Matilda. Sadly, that turned out not to be the case but before I turned 12 I won a local reading competition three times in a row.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm allergic to dust so I understand the need to keep a house clean and I do my best to help when I'm staying with someone. On the contrary I have absolutely no trouble with animal fur since I have two VERY hairy dogs and a cat myself.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, France, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Italy, United States
