About Me

Going to the library day after day, slowly but surely approaching the semester break, I told Theresa: „hey, what do you think about hitchhiking after the exams are over?“, Theresa nods by raising her eyebrows (a Tanzanian short cut for „yes“). „What about south of France?“, Theresa nods again.
Time passes by, exams are over, Theresa goes home to her parents. Meanwhile we‘re trying, sort of passively to contact each other and clarify the details. 4 days later we do finally talk and now look at us, we‘re in France, hitchhiking our way through and having a beautifully adventurous time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It would be lovely to experience a new country not through the whole of a camera, constantly taking pictures or through the window of a hotel. I want to be near the culture, get some insider views, but how in that possible if not by sharing some days with people who live it day by day?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well it might sound silly but I try enjoying other people's happiness. For instance not so long ago, there was a little girl on her way back home that suddenly sighted. So totally scared I looked in her direction, but only to observe her big eyes, excited about the fact that she detected a puddle in front of her, in which she instantly jumped into. And that kind of made me happy, seeing people enjoy the little things in life, that mature people tend to ignore.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a swimming instructor for little children, I do that for more that a year now and it's making me really happy.
Otherwise I meet in my school, every Monday, young refugees who need some support in learning German, or doing their homework, or who simply want to spend some time with us. ( by now we got to know each other pretty well)
Beside that I babysit children, that's how for at least four years I've constantly been taking care of four boys ( who by now are quite old, compared to the beginning), but also at least of two other families.
