Hi! My name is Elena and I come originally from Basque Country in the north of Spain, although my desire of adventure brought me to Berlin two and a half years ago, where I now live. Nowadays I'm studying here my master in Literature, and after living in Bilbao, Berlin and Prague, I'm looking forward to travel for the first time in my live to the other side of the ocean and visit Chile for one semester :)
I'm a very easy-going person, and after moving so many times and living with many different people I think I have learned to adapt myself and get on with a lot of kinds o people and places and to treat everybody with love and respect. About me, I love singing and dancing tacky 80's music, petting any kind of animals, cooking delicious (and sometimes not that delicious) stuff, and discovering new and exciting places in the city and in the nature.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Because I think it's a beautiful way to connect with people that have a similar point of view about travelling, and because I enjoy sharing experiences with new people and creating bonds that in another situation would be impossible to find. Going abroad is not always easy and I think couchsurfing is a good way to meet new people and find your way easier :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Pfff... where to start? As I was a child my favourite films were Grease and Mr. Magoo (God bless Leslie Nielsen), but I think I'm finally over it! Here a list with my musts of music films and books:
Grease, Godfellas, Dirty Dancing, Once Upon a Time in America ( and in general Sergio Leone <3), every Wes Anderson movie, Annie Hall, Xanadu, Almost Famous, The Jungle Book, The Labyrinth, have you ever seen this serie Dr. Zitbugs Transilvania Pet Shop? Best children serie ever!!!)

Bowie, T-Rex, Aerosmith, 80's glam rock and metal!,but also Abba, Toto.., Artic Monkeys, The Fat White Family, 60's spanish and french music like Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, Donna Summer, and Disco, sometimes House music and Italodisco, Techno... Belle and Sebastian, Adam Green, Pixies, Depeche Mode, New Order, I love in general all these new wave sinister and full of glitter stuff (I know the list is kind of strange). Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, some spanish songwriters too.

With books it's also hard, I've read several times the whole Harry Potter serie, but I love also these crazy catacrocker existencialist, specially Camus and Emile Cioran. Waiting for Godot <3 Martin Amis, Hunter Thompson, some poetry too; Paul Celan, Baudelaire, Nelly Sachs, Lorca, Miguel Hernández, Valente. Cortázar, Borges, Onetti... Again very random, I know.
