Hi! My name is Elena Mathys. I'm adopted from Vietnam. I have a big brother who is 2 years older than me. I was adopted by my Belgian father, so I am both an American and Belgian citizen. I used to be verified... but I'm also a college student who scrambles for money.

I attend Colorado School of Mines and plan on majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering. After College I would like to continue on and receive a PhD but that's a while from now.

Some of my hobbies include drawing, playing league, and I love to fish. I am a full time student, but still find time to do the fun stuff once in a while. Living in Denver I'm very outdoorsy. I do have a boyfriend who has two cats and I love animals of all shapes.

I absolutely love meeting new people, I'm extremely friendly and adventurous. I will eat anything and sleep anywhere. Well maybe not ANYTHING but you know, most of the things.

As stated before I love meeting new people, and travelling is one of my passions. I was lucky enough to have generous parents who would take me and my brother to their business trips, so I have no qualms about travelling to new destinations. I am on couch surfing in order to make some connections with people I'd never meet otherwise.

Couch surfing really gives you a variety of experiences. I've slept on the ground in a dorm room, stayed with a erotic artist, and even explored the city with a local who was willing to show us around. I loved the aspect of not really being a tourist, but instead looking at what the locals do. Everyone is able to give you so much advice, and are very friendly.

I swim and run, but my strengths never were in athletics. Instead I much prefer the non-athletic things. I play the saxophone and sing. I have studied piano for 7 years, and am trying to learn the guitar.

My favorite pastimes are reading, doing homework, playing league/other games, spending time with my friends, and exploring the outdoors.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music - I don't really have favorites in this. In fact favorites are hard for me because I'm really easy going and like everything. My music choice varies from Hard Rock/Metal to like Country. Anything and everything in between is fair game.

Movies - I don't have too many favorites, but Death at a Funeral is hilarious. I am a huge Whovian, and an avid Sherlock fan. I also watch a lot of anime and well anything on Netflix has probably been watched by me.

Books - Some of my favorites include Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson, Night Angels Series by Brent Weeks, and obviously the classics such as Harry Potter. I also have a love for the book Emperor of All Maladies, since it is so interesting and intriguing.

I have traveled a lot, and during my junior year in high school I spend 6 weeks alone in Cusco, Peru, trying to improve my spanish skills. Other than that, when I'm at home I can stream 24 hours of shows in one day?

I love learning about people and sharing stories with them. I can teach you how to cook fairly healthy foods, and a lot about Colorado. Like did you know that Colorado gets 1000 new people a month?
