Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Elena a 20 year-old university student. I study Japanese in Venice.
I don't really know how I should start to present myself.
I'm kinda shy and introvert indeed, however if given the chance to open up I'm not a bad person to hang out with, I love to talk about everything and learn as well - if you're a physicist even better. :)
I speak my mind freely, sometimes without thinking properly and thus it may cause a mess. However, communication is key but in this society where we've lost part of its meaning and the ability to convey properly we need to re-learn through mistakes also.
Even though I'm an impulsive girl and somehow chaotic I enjoy quiet places, solitude and thus I often wander in nature in search for peace.
I've got both the light and the dark side, I'm mostly irrational but also rational, I'm artistic as well as practical. However, mark that I prefer imagination over reality and I'm that kind of person who observes her surroundings rather than taking active part. Not that I step back either.
Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era since I don't feel like I fit anywhere. To enjoy the little things in life, find comfort in nature and distantiate from modernity. Are these actions so difficutl to do in this historic period?
Have you ever read "Into the wild"? Then you might understand how I feel, what I'd like to do but, I guess, I'm too coward to make that step. If not, I highly suggest it, along with many other books, like "Walden or life in the woods".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
12 January 2019 Architects - Amsterdam Arena. That's it. My friend and I (actually she introduced me to this way of travelling) need a place to stay.
I discovered Couchsurfing and thus I thought it would be a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, meet people and become part of the world.
It is said that humans are social animals. It is true that we need human interaction and reciprocal exchange to feel good and improve our self-esteem. Meeting real people, not only with online chats and voice calls, is a great chance given to learning and growth. Plus, letting someone into your very own house is expression of trust and, in my opinion, a really difficult task since you also let those you host enter into your private life.
Couchsurfing appears to be a perfect method to socializing and "re-huminizing".
Interests
Sports = I go walking/ jogging.
I played basketball and I was a swimmer for half of my existence.
Any kind of physical activity, like canoeing, climbing I'd like to try.
I'd love to hitch hike one day.
I don't really like eating, but I enjoy cooking quite a lot so I might cook for you some Italian dish!

Music, Movies, and Books
It depends. Sometimes I listen to rock music on repeat for weeks and some other time I listen to jazz music and others.
Favourite bands however are Architects, Bring Me the Horizon, The Amity Affliction, Parkway Drive, Neck Deep, Radwimps, One OK Rock.
The same goes for films and books, I read and watch anything. (I'm an anime and manga binge watcher)
To understand what's good you need to know the bad things as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't think I've done anything impressive. For I believe it's difficult to define what's incredible and there's always something to improve and to do better and more amazingly.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach only what I know.
I'm open to learning everything.
Reciprocal exchange is the key to learning.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Anything that's on my possibilities to give. Maybe?
