About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing school, while trying to see as much of the world as I can while doing it!

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the deep Canadian forests, I'm therefore a very nature/outdoorsy/sporty person. I love hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and all that stuff. I also started yoga about 2 years ago and I am HOOKED. I used to be a dancer, but got tired of it because dancing is about performing. Yoga is about the process, not about pleasing an audience. It's about you, and what you need. It's a great way to take a few minutes everyday and ground yourself, escape the constant motion and breathe all your problems away.

I'm a nature person, but I also absolutely adore cities. What's awesome about cities is the people, they make the whole atmosphere. Therefore, to get to know a city, it's most important to meet the people. Their quirks, their habits, culture, history and stories... You can't really understand a city if you only visit monuments and museum... that's why I love couchsurfing.

Study-wise, I have a bachelor degree in Water Engineering and I am now doing my master in Environmental Engineering at McGill in Montreal.

Here's a little quote by american author Hellen Keller which stuck with me the second I read it.

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing."

IMPORTANT: I am not on CS for dating. As a girl often travelling solo, I'm overly careful about the people I meet, to be on the safe side. I'm very wary of empty profiles (Pro-tip: Take the time to right a lot about you, it will pay off!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started surfing in 2013, while on Easter break from my university exchange semester in Switzerland and I surfed in Belgium and Berlin. It was an amazing week, I met amazing people, and basically decided couchsurfing was the best way to travel. To really get to know places.

I have since then had amazing experiences in Ticino (Switzerland), Italy (Rome and Venice), France, Ireland and Toronto.

Interests

I love to travel (obviously!) but I also enjoy skiing, snowbording, hiking, canoeing, biking... basically spending time outside. I also love reading, watching movies, I'm also slightly addicted to a few TV shows... But sports and activities always come first. I love photography, but I'm still a beginner. Recently I've decided my cooking skills were really way too lame so I've been trying to up my game in the kitchen. I love making salads and desserts especially ;) I also love craft beer, Québec has some amazing micro-breweries!
