ABOUT US

We are a happy international couple living in Switzerland.

Elena is a Traveller, a manager and a writer.
Addicted to good music (such as old British rock, chill-out and jazz) and feel it everywhere, so always happy to share good taste in music and get new vibes.

And would prefer smart conversations with strangers and travellers rather than being alone. Believes in the good in humanity and try to live life according to the Buddhist principles.
And just live a simple life without stress and hurry. Very easy to communicate with and never use bad words.

Ross is a stress engineer, addicted to non-boring beer and knows a lot about craft breweries around the world. Also a keen hiker, mountain biker and lover of all outdoor activities. Have a deep interest in history and enjoys travel around the world.

Seems if to fold our passports together there will be stamps of more than 80 countries :)

When We're Couchsurfing :
- If we sent you a request, be sure that we completely read your profile and respect your way of hosting. And most important: we'd interested to communicate with you :-)
- We don't like the copy-paste request. The CS is about people, and we deeply inspired this way for exchange.
- We respect the CS community and believe that is not just about getting a free bed, it's about honour and sharing.
- We're very clean, polite and attentive to details, flexible in everything and don't mind where to sleep, even floor with a sleeping bag is OK.
- We like to cook and can share some tasty recipes, which been collected during our journeys.

When We host:
First of all, We propose a comfortable place to rest for travellers. We know how important it sometimes to get a piece of rest during a long journey.

Usually, Elena has time to show around and some interesting hidden non-touristic places, but sometimes we could be busy with family and business, so don't be minded if we couldn't spend much time with you outside. Almost every weekend we are off to somewhere like other cities or mountains, snowboarding, hiking or biking. So if we have lots in common, we are happy to share these journeys.

At our home, a hungry guest is a very rare case :)

If you like sports activities, we can do some cycling, hiking or walking around, or depends on the city, even drive to some sights around the city.

Anyway feel free to ask about anything, We'll try our best to help you.

PHILOSOPHY

Life must be happy if you aren't happy then you have limits inside. Be happy inside yourself. Simplicity is better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Elena joined this community in 2013 and since then she doesn't stop to believe in the CS spirit. In India are most common words are "share is always fair". And each day proves it.
It is always good to get in touch with open-minded people and learn something new.

Ross is a new CS member, but very experienced traveller and optimistic about everything.

Interests

Elena: Well, first of all, I'm Traveller, explores the difference between cultures and finds connection about it. From that I got a big passion to learn new languages.

Meditation - it helps to keep the mind clean and out of selfish things.

Five years ago I switched into vegetarian life. It brings harmony to my life.

And after that, I fell in love with baking veggie cakes :)

Another passion is cooking various dishes from all around the world. So, if you have something special delicious to share, I'd be happy about it. Cheers!

Also lots of interests in this incredible world, such as
Dancing, playing games like a mafia, chess, Uno and other board games. Riding horse, motorbike, snowboarding, climbing, running, drink tea with cinnamon and milk, learning languages and come inside cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Elena: I believe, that music creates the mood, follow the classic and new rock, kinda fun of classical music and fingerstyle guitar, and Rock-n-Roll of course :)) The same with movies, I just don't like a Horror genre.
But the best music is inner silence :)

Ross: British Rock and beer are always good :) I like historical and Sci-Fi movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Elena: a lot of amazing things came into my life, I passed Himalayan mountains in the wintertime, started a new destination in business, learnt Hindi and have been a white model in the Hindi wedding, opened a beach cafe in Thailand and lots more.
Last incredible journey was with hitchhiking over 1000 km in Morocco and spent a week in Sahara desert.

In Spring 2018 I passed through Vipassana course and can say it is one of the most powerful tools to control the mind and change your life. Life will never be ci-devant after it.

But most incredible is the meetings with awesome people during journeys. It the most worthy thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share everything about we know. Such as language exchange, world vision, play some music together, hiking, biking, snowboarding, cook delicious dishes, play board games (tonnes of it in our bookcase)))) Always open to everything new.
