About Me

Hi everyone!
I am a 24 years-old italian girl from Florence.
I recently took a Master degree in Classics at University of Siena and I am currently doing some more research on the topic in the Alma Mater Studiorum (University of Bologna). I am also a Londiner in my heart as I've been living for more or less a year in London to attend UCL. I am extremely curious about languages in the world (preferably dead) and scripts (better if undeciphered).
I am also a musician and a rocker in my soul, and I am always up to sing some old songs by a random campfire.
I love nature and animals and pink clothes.
NOTE: If I am asking for two people, the other one is my boyfriend Andrea. He is from South Italy (Puglia) and he can make the most delicious handmade pasta and pizza (yes the stereotype it's true this time). He is a classicist too so please don't mind if we occasionally speak in latin between us two, it's just the habit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend told me about this and I was amazed at how brilliant this idea is! I am looking forward to begin my experience with all the people who would like to visit Florence and the ones who will show me around the corner of the world they are living in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite band at the moment: absolutely the Ministri, an italian indie rock band from Milan. If you never heard about them it's time to give a look to songs like 'Una palude' or 'Comunque'. Generally, I listen to all kinds of rock music and acoustic songwriters, but I can get really pumped on some alternative techno on friday night.
My favourite films are drammatically banal, in fact I am not a great lover of films (I do admit I usually fall asleep half of the times). Anyway, my favourite film of the moment is 'Il Primo Re', an italian film on the foundation of Rome entirely spoke in archaic latin.
I am a passionate reader, both of novels and essays. I am fond of Jared Diamonds' works on world-history like 'Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies' and of the stories of huge discoveries like Chadwick's 'The Decipherment of Linear B'. My favourite novel authors at the moment are Alice Kober and Guido Piovene.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a mountain peak in the Alps with my younger sisters without any protection and with the very possibility of falling and dying, just because of fun and to prove that three girls could do something even expert hikers were afraid to.

Teach, Learn, Share

First of all, I can show you all the beauty and secrets of Florence, which is maybe (not maybe, come on) the most beautiful city in the world. I know all the bloody stories of the Medici family and the place were Michelangelo used to eat his sandwich while working at the David.
I am a classicist in my soul and I can go on overnight telling you everything about ancient world, so it's your choice asking. I can play music and sing along if it's you playing. I have quite a discrete knowledge about wines and I can offer you a bottle of the most precious Chianti Classico.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very helpful, I can cook and choose a wine for dinner and I can pet your dog and play with him all day long (I love animals)!
