Hello! I'm a computer nerd turned van dweller. My girlfriend and I are currently embarking on an around-the-country tour of the continental United States. I'm a programmer and she's an artist and we've put together a van and a plan that we hope will provide a good experience for us while we travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Full disclosure: our van is equipped to live in. We don't need much, but a safe place to a park and a shower would be greatly appreciated. We have gym memberships for showering, national park passes and camp grounds for sleeping, and laundromats for our clothes, but staying at a private residence makes a lot less eyes turn than a mysterious van by the roadside.

Interests

Oh boy. I've been working on and with computers since I was 7 and have since turned it into a career. When I'm not working or learning work-relevant material, I love rock climbing and motorcycling, though I had to sell my bike in 2016. Since then, and because I work online, I've decided to buy a van to live in and travel the US, and have taken an avid, albeit slightly obligated, interest in condensed and minimal living. I also keep my camera nearby so I can continue to practice my skills.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I listen to a lot of classic and progressive rock as well as a miscellaneous collection of electronic music artists. Marcy Playground, Fleetwood Mac, and Ronald Jenkees are some of my favorite artists.

Books - I used to read a lot more in high school until I discovered compelling storytelling video games. I lean heavily towards fantasty fiction.

Movies - huge anime nerd. I don't have the time it deserves so my interests here are mostly western, but I'm a huge sucker for Code Geass, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Teen Titans, and Avatar The Last Airbender.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is one of my favorite things to do. If you are passionate about something, that gets me hyped and as excited to learn as you are to talk about it.

As far as teaching is concerned, if there's anything you've ever wondered about computers, web design, photography, video games, or programming, I am happy to share what I know or at least point you in the right direction. My girlfriend is an aspiring watercolor artist and is generally crafty and enjoys makeup.

As far as sharing is concerned, we have little in the van that isn't ruthlessly practical except for a deck of cards and food, both of which we are more than happy to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm technologically inclined, so if you're having any issues with your computer, home WiFi network, television set etc, I'd be happy to take a look at it and see how I can help out. I also know a couple of frustrating card games if you feel the urge to get pissed off.
