Overview
About Me
Hi my name is Eli Weissman and I was born in New Haven CT. I am a Philosophy, Politics, Law (PPL), and History major at Binghamton University. I am taking some time off and looking for work and volunteer opportunities. I am also doing some soul searching and traveling. I was born in New Haven, CT, but I have lived in several other states including MA, NC, and UT. I think my experience in moving around the United States has made me a pretty friendly and an easy to get along with guy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Currently, I am taking some time off from college and looking for life experience. I truly enjoy helping those in need and this passion is not limited to one state. I am looking to couch surf because I do not have the financial means to support renting an apartment yet. I am currently looking to couch surf near the Flint Michigan area so that I can volunteer during the water crisis they are having. However, I will return to NYC to work tutoring underprivileged kids, as well as working at a law office.
Interests
I enjoy nature and real camping, with just my tarp my bag an the bare necessities. The longest iv gone camping straight was 2 and a half month's. I love to travel and see/learn new things. I watch sports here and there. I played lacrosse and basketball (casually) in high school.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am one of those people who does not stick to any one genre of music. I am pretty open minded, so long as I can find some meaning in the music. I cant play an instrument but that doesnt stop me from trying and enjoying it. My favorite movie would probably be Braveheart. I generally read pretty boring non-fiction history books, but I am trying to expand my horizons. I also read a good amount of philosophy, but mostly the classics like Plato.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well according to my mother, when I was around 7 years old I saved a toddlers life by stopping her from walking into the street where a cab was speeding. Most recently, I would say going out into the Monongahela national forest in WV and camping there for three days by myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Id like to think that I have a good amount of knowledge and can offer random little lessons here and there. I am most definitely interested in learning (the more the better)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am hard worker and can pitch in with house work where need be. I like to cook here and there. With the right materials, I can make a pretty good meal. Id like to think im good for conversation, but I can also give as much space as wanted/needed. I definitely do my best to be polite, but can still be a lot of fun.
Countries I’ve Visited
Israel, Italy, Poland
