About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Whenever unsure if I should do something, do it immediately.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in NYC and live in NYC, with a 9 year break in there for college (Virginia) and work (Philly).

I've travelled a lot but I've never bought a one way ticket (outside of trips to Vegas). For my job I have to be devoid of emotions while making decisions, but away from work I try to do the opposite.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that positive actions will make good things happen, but not necessarily to those doing them. Most everything is random, it's best to embrace and respect the variance.

Keyword: I hate to do this but I get a lot of requests, and to be able to host I need some way to filter them. So please write the keyword "duck" in your request to show you've read my profile!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My work schedule is short (by American standards), so I'm happy and able to host and share my time and space. I love to surf, but I've only been able to do it a few times so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nothing but good ones. With my guests I've had some great dinners in my home, out at restaurants, and best of all at my friend and active couchsurfer's house (he always has a good crowd on Sundays). We've had snowball fights, hung out at the pool, went to the beach, gone out to bars, clubs, comedy clubs, parties, concerts, quizzo, bowling. I sometimes go along for touristy stuff, but I've done most of it and enjoy everything else more. Basically there's a lot going on in NYC and surfers are welcome to join me for it all.

Interests

Summertime. Beach. Pool. Outdoor sports. I still play board games and poker. Swimming, biking, running. Going out -- parties/bars/plays whatever.

Music, Movies, and Books

Comedies: Dumb & Dumber, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, Broad City
Non comedies: The Sting, Ives plays, Steinbeck books.
Music: When I was 8 I was really into MTV, and the music videos from the summer of 1994 molded me. I have hundreds of CD's (yes I've never graduated from CD's) and my old school rap collection is extensive. Live I've seen the Beastie Boys, De La Soul, Mos Def and Talib Kweli (separately), Jay Z, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Drake, Wutang, Wutang, Wutang, Public Enemy, The Roots, Flight of the Conchordes, Ava Luna, Foster The People, M83, Christine and the Queens, Digable Planets, the Lox, Biz Markie, KRS-One

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Costa Rica I saw giant turtles laying hundreds of eggs under the moon on a beach.

Teach, Learn, Share

My mom's a TEACHer. She teaches English as a second language to elementary school kids, but I still need to LEARN one. SHARE.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
