About Me
Hello, you can call me Nara. I'm a Brazilian from Recife, a city in northeastern Brazil. As a coastal person, I can't survive long without the sea. And I'm not kidding. I've been living in Germany for almost two years now, in the state of Hesse, in a very small village north of Frankfurt.
I lived 18 years of my life in Recife, which has almost 2 million inhabitants, and now it's a real challenge to live in a place with just over 2,000 inhabitants. But I confess that I also like the quiet. And the contact with nature makes it all worthwhile
But from time to time I seek out the hustle and bustle of big cities, multiculturalism and meeting people from all over the world.
I studied Social Sciences with a specialty in sociology and statistics, and I currently work for a social organization in Germany.
I'm passionate about art, and surfing is my favorite of my hobbies. Unfortunately, at the moment I'm not able to practice as often as I'd like, but I’ll do it often soon.
I also enjoy good music of the most diverse styles. I love forró, techno, classical music, jazz, blues, samba and the list goes on and on... I have a small vinyl record collection which is getting bigger all the time.
I enjoy cooking and, above all, eating. I'm always happy when I have a good wine and a cup of coffee (not necessarily in that sequence). Adding good company to all this, of course
I'm really curious, I like to talk and learn about very diverse topics and I'm also a very good listener. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I always find it very interesting how individuals are so special in their particularities, listening to different stories, different languages and laughter are things I really cherish and I think it enriches the experience and living.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since 2019 I've decided that I'd like to travel the world and meet people. That's why I downloaded Couchsurfing. Shortly after I downloaded the app, the pandemic started. And all my plans were ruined. And I ended up uninstalling the app without having had a chance to experience it.
Now, in June 2024, I reinstalled Couchsurfing and decided to live my dream of traveling around the world and connecting with people. And I'm open to the discoveries to come.
I believe that this platform truly goes beyond borders, and brings cultures and experiences together. I’ve heard that Couchsurfing is responsible for making a “network of connections” and that goes beyond the differences between people.
So I'm looking forward to the new experiences to come.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't consider it amazing, just exotix for most. I was in a village living with indigenous, it was very far away and we had to cross a marsh. We took a nap on top of the trees, because the crossing lasted 2 days.
