About Me
I love to read, travel, meet new people and discover new cities.... if there is some wine to share and classical music in the background it's even better!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a great way to travel on a student budget and to get all the best tips about what to see and where to go in an unknown city. Plus, I mostly travel on my own, but if I do so it's mostly because it gives me the opportunity to meet some locals and discover their country and culture from a very authentic point of view. Those exchange of thoughts are always fascinating to me and that is why I consider traveling as a legit part of my education!
Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kind of music, from typical music from Québec to rap and reggae, but jazz and classical music definitely have a special place in my heart :)
I do not watch a lot of movies but I do like the work of directors like Tarkovsky, Kubrik, Tarantino, T. Gillian and the silent german cinema from Pabst, Murnau, F. Lang... oh and I also like Star Wars (the original ones) because nostalgia is a powerful thing.
"My favorite Books" is a difficult one because I studied literature and philosophy and I love so many, but "Ulysses" (Joyce), "À la recherche du temps perdu" (Proust), "Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften" (Musil), "Die Blendung" (Canetti), "Der Zauberberg" (Mann) and most of Kafka's work are probably in my top because they propose both an aesthetic and a philosophical aspect. Plus, they are the kind of books that can change your life and your perspective on the world.
The thinkers of the stoa were quite influential for me on a personal level and I guess "Wahrheit und Methode" from H-G. Gadamer is one of my favorite books because I did my master thesis on it!
