Overview
About Me
Since March I have been bicycletouring through western Europe together with my girlfriend. In the first days of July she had to return back home to Vienna and I am continuing alone towards Ireland and Scotland.
I am 28 years old and originally from the very north of Italy but my native language is German. I moved to neighbouring Austria for my studies in 2014 and I now live and work in Vienna since 2020.
I love to cycle, both for travelling as well as in my day to day life in Vienna. I am firmly convinced that if more people chose the bicycle as their mode of transportation, the world, and especially cities, would be a better place.
I spend a lot of time alone on the saddle so I’d be very happy to get to know some people on the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because on my previous travels the most lasting memories were often connected to the people that I met along the way.
Also, I get lonely in hotels.

Music, Movies, and Books
I fell in love with classical guitar music a few years back and since then I also play guitar (casually). But I do also like other kinds of music like...the Doors, Nick Drake or Gregory Alan Isakov. I will consider you particularly cool if you know Townes van Zandt.
My favorite movie is probably Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In general I prefer more alternative movies though and I do like watching movies with subtitles.
My favorite book is Notes from Underground by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going on several long distance hikes and cycling trips alone.
Meeting a baby bear in the wild.
Cutting my own hair.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're interested in going on a long distance bike tour or hike or if you did so already, I can give you all my secret tips and we can have endless discussions about gear and possible destinations.
My native language is German so if you're into that, I can give you a hand... or point out all the mistakes you're making :p
Though I have to warn you...you might pick up my accent or even parts of the funny dialect we speak in my hometown area.
Finally I’m a programmer, so I might even be able to fix up your computer. Or shed some light on how it works its magic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledge on Italian and Austrian culture and us few people that are caught somewhere in between, nerdy discussions on the interests I listed above, amateurish guitar play... oh! and I'm a decent cook (or dishwasher)
