Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Elias, and I'm a 20-year-old student from the United States. I study psychology and neuroscience at UNC-Chapel Hill. I was born and raised in Asheville, NC, so I grew up in the beautiful Appalachian mountains. I have a deep fascination with psychology, philosophy, and how they overlap. I hope to have a career in psychological research that can eventually become self-guided. I consider myself an open-minded and curious person, as I really enjoy seeing new places, meeting new people, and being exposed to different ways of life. I am a respectful guest, a warm and friendly person, and I love to have fun, so I look forward to meeting you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have just finished traveling in Europe with my family, and I have been here since May. In early August, I will begin studying at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark for the fall semester. Before I start school in Denmark, I have three weeks in July after my parents fly home. One of my best friends, Jake, is coming to meet me in Paris, where we will begin doing a loop of Western Europe until the end of July. We are both college students, so we are financially limited, so Couchsurfing seems like a great way to save money. Because we are both social and lively people, I really look forward to all of the cool people that Couchsurfing will help me meet!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: My music taste is wide, but my favorite genres are probably indie rock and alternative. Some of my favorite artists are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mac Demarco, J Cole, Modest Mouse, Bon Iver, Keaton Henson, The Black Keys, and Mac Miller.
Movies: I don't watch many movies, but I love Zoolander, Airplane!, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Borat.
Books: My favorite author is Charles Bukowski, but I also like Nietzsche and Michael Pollan.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While backpacking in the Pyrenees, I came face to face with a large fox! He did not seem frightened by me at all, and he walked towards me so much that I had to back up. It was an awesome experience!
What I Can Share with Hosts
