About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Something about music and empowerment

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Eli and I consider myself a pretty nice and laid-back dude. I play the piano and the trombone and try to teach children to appreciate music at a higher level. I have a cat named Mirah who loves belly rubs.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything in moderation - including moderation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a number of folks while living with an active CS'er (is that right?) in an older apartment. Now that I have moved and have a fairly large space, I want to do something positive with it, so I decided to create my own profile and open it up to anyone who needs a place to crash.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said, I've hosted several people in an older apartment, and while traveling a few years ago, stayed with a few cool peeps as we made our way down the eastern seaboard.

Interests

Pizza, seeing live music, playing music, videogames, half-paying attention to TV shows, feminist theory, doggies, French comic books, reading about union stuff and not understanding why I find it so interesting

Music, Movies, and Books

Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, all those dead white dudes...Phish, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Mojave 3, Daft Punk, Grateful Dead, Deltron, Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, David Bowie, really though I'm down for pretty much any musical experience

I started to list my books and movies below this, but it looked so show-offy...but please know I have decent taste in both and would love to talk/learn about either.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For me, summiting Angels Landing at Zion National Park was a glorious experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk about almost any musical concept you want to know, as far as theory and history goes - one of the great joys in my life is helping people develop relationships with music they may not have otherwise listened to very much. I can play the piano and trombone at very high levels, and can show you how to play almost any other instrument at a very beginner's level.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Italy, Puerto Rico, Syrian Arab Republic, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
