About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I wish to facilitate a World Community informed by but unlike anything that has come before!
PHILOSOPHY
I identify as Bahai, which intersects with the CS project in an interesting world-view sort of way. The first bullet-point of the faith is that all humanity is one family, and I found that to be one of the most difficult, frustrating, rewarding, and true statements ever written down.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am too busy to travel right now, but in the meantime if there is any way my couch can help someone else travel, please be my guest! I am newly registered through this program, but I am an experienced host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been blessed by many different host families in my travels as a musician, with one of my most memorable being in France. Even though this family did not own much compared to some of my other host families, they gave me the best they had; their best food, the master bedroom, it blew my mind and I treasure their hospitality still and try to model after them. I don't have much, but I love to share.

Yo-Yo Ma has cross-pollinated music in a fascinating way, check out his Silk Road Project. Books are an amazing source of knowledge,
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I was leading a group of developing high-school leaders through a cave in Indiana. We had been crawling flat on our bellies for some time when one of them was overcome by claustrophobia. He started yelling that he couldn't breathe, and that he needed to get out. This was not an option, so as the spelunker in front of him, I asked him to focus on the person behind him, because they needed his help to get out of the cave. Once he was focused on someone else, he forgot his own troubles, and we all successfully made it to the underground waterfall we were aiming for, and then back to the surface. It was a victorious experience for everyone involved, and I will never forget the lesson in selflessness that I learned in the dark, wet, tunnels there.

Teach, Learn, Share
I have a lot that I can share in the world of music. I perform a lot of fiddle and jazz music on my 'cello, I also teach piano and guitar quite a bit, so if you are interested in an exchange centered around music, you should visit my couch, I love learning too.
