About Me

Hi! I'm a digital nomad who's just finished a year of studying in Melbourne. In the 1.5 years before that, I travelled in ~20 countries in Europe and Africa, and I've travelled in ~30 countries in total. I'm driven by a desire to climb the mountain of knowledge, which includes basically everything you could study at university, plus skills, arts, languages, travel, ... far too much to do in one lifetime unfortunately!

I'm always down to try something new or to explore a new idea. "Everything you don't love is one less way to enjoy life" is one of my mottos.

This clip pretty much sums me up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GY3sO47YYo

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always been interested, but during my 1.5 years of travelling I got pretty comfortable staying in hostels. But now I'm definitely gonna check couchsurfing out more since I've gone to a few meetups and the community seems great!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listened exclusively to classical music until I was 20, on that front I'd say Bach, Beethoven, Rachmanioff, and Martinů. Since then I've started exploring other genres of music! I've found myself quite attracted to Nordic pop/indie artists like Aurora, Askjell, ARY, and Moyka. I have a special interest in microtonal music.

Movies: Ex Machina, V for Vendetta, and Inside Out (in no particular order)

Book: Cancer Ward by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Wikipedia Article: Fermi Paradox (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox)

Youtube video: What Game Theory Reveals About Life, The Universe, and Everything (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mScpHTIi-kM)

Favourite ideas: evolution, memes (in the original sense!), game theory, maslow's hierarchy of needs, MBTI, economic surplus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I visited Ukraine in October 2023, and was 40km from the front line at some points!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot to teach and even more to learn! Oh, you want to browse through the "catalogue"?
• Mathematics is an art
• Why are there 12 notes in western music, and can we have more?
• Capitalism and democracy are growing old
• All intelligent species need religion
• On efficiency and diversity
• ... and a lot more!
Oh and of course interesting travel stories from Ukraine and West Africa, plus more I heard from within the extreme travel community.
