Overview
About Me
In short always laughing, half of the time dreaming and half of the time trying to get back to the world, always planning never following the plan.
Now, if you would like more:
I am an electronics engineer specialized in telecommunications and a proud Ph.D. drop-out. I work in a Wi-Fi analytics company as a researcher.
I am always fascinated about to get to know new people, new cultures, and places and I have traveled around Turkey and a couple of other countries so far. I like to usually travel by myself. I like the freedom and courage it gives me. After every travel, I become a little stronger and I feel better about who I am.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to stay at locals' houses in the countries that I am traveling mostly because all the other alternatives are more isolated options and you do not get to share much with people. The best way to experience a new culture is to meet with people from that culture and I have always stayed at locals' houses in the countries that I have been so far. I have reached out my hosts mostly via my friends' contacts and their help. But I am realizing recently that CouchSurfing provides a better and expanded ground to meet with people and I need to use it more.
Interests
I love jazz music and swing dancing. I have been dancing for eight years now. I take classes, assist some of them, and have been abroad just for dance festivals many times (to the Netherlands, Poland, and Bulgaria). I try to read as much as I can and watch as many movies as possible, and I am primarily interested in independent and alternative cinema. And I mostly run in my spare time for meditation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I tried out for the show group for swing dancing at my university, where authentic dancers dominated the scene, at the age of 26, magic happened, and I was on the stage at the age of 27 in 2019.
So I won the lottery twice and was selected as a dancer again for the show of 2020. But pandemic hit the scene just a couple of months after we started practicing, and the show got canceled. So much for my dancing career :)
I did charity runs in the Istanbul city marathon for three years, and I have helped two organizations. With the charity money from these runs, one organization built a nursery home for abandoned kids, and the other organization transformed an articulated lorry into an education facility. This articulated lorry now travels around Turkey to reach out to the kids living in disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you dancing (swing, solo jazz, lindy hop). I can teach Turkish, and I may be able to teach (at least help) English. I teach maths at all levels, although I do not think anyone is ever interested in that:) I want to learn about the local culture and history of the countries that I go to.
We usually travel with my boyfriend who is a physio and performance trainer and passionate about sports. So, he'd definitely take you to the next level with those.

My cheerfulness :)
