ABOUT ME

I am the person who is always laughing loudly, talking a lot and making silly jokes. Or that might be the first impression that people usually get. And I don't mind because I think that at first it's fun just to laugh together and have fun. But there's also this more serious side of me. My field of study is psychology and I have philosophy as a minor. So, of course, I'm really interested in human mind and behavior and philosophical thinking and discussions. I'm also interested in cultural differences, human rights, environmental issues etc. I've been vegetarian (although I eat fish every now and then) since March 2011 and I see it as one way to reflect my identity.

I love to travel and explore new things - in practice and in theory. I also love to meet new people. I'm very easy to get along with because I'm relaxed and easy-going person. I don't normally stress about things too much. However, sometimes getting to know new people feels kind of a big effort. Maybe it's "a Finnish way of thinking". That's something that I'm working on at the moment. Often it feels so much easier just to say I'm too busy to host instead of organizing my things and being brave enough to meet new people.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that people should live their lives so that they can be happy and satisfied. As long as they don't cause harm to other people, animals or environment. And from my point of view a "good person" gets the satisfaction also by helping others.

I'm an atheist. And I must admit that I have pretty critical point of view when it comes to religions. But of course, these are individual choices and I don't judge anyone. Still, I feel that sometimes religion can get in the way of enjoying your life and growing as a person. Of course, this is not always the case.

Interests

Traveling, African dance, ashtanga yoga, music, languages, poetry, literature, arts.

I really love writing: Diary, poems, letters, plans... I'm always carrying around pile of books: Diary, notebook, calendar, traveling diary, poetry notebook, poetry book...

I've been practicing West African dance since 2012 and I've completely fallen in love with it! Nowadays I'm in an African dance group called Mama Africa Jkl and we perform regularly. In the autumn 2013 I found a new love: ashtanga yoga. Recently I joined this "board game group" and I have been so excited about our game nights! I've noticed that I have a habit to get REALLY enthusiastic about new things. Now I try to figure out how to combine everything. Somehow it seems that there is not enough time to do everything I love...

I'm also very much in love with my lovely boyfriend, Lauri. We've lived together since December 2014. So, when I'm thinking of hosting I nowadays also have to ask Lauri's opinion. ;)

I can teach Finnish! We can do yoga together. I also like playing games. And I love to leave notes.
