About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To fall in love with people, places and ideas; and to fall hard.
ABOUT ME
I'm trying to learn as much about myself as possible through interactions with others. I don't mind being alone and sometimes enjoy it, but my best memories are with close friends and family, strangers, couch surfers etc. I am studying abroad in the Netherlands and have had an incredible experience. I'm not ready to go home in January 2016, but it will just be the beginning of a new adventure :)
PHILOSOPHY
After traveling I developed a personal philosophy that is incredibly simple..
There is no experience that isn't a learning experience.
Everyone is different; just accept it :)
You can find an adventure in ANY situation!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not been very active in couch surfing the last couple years and I am looking forward to getting involved again! I have hosted numerous times and had positive experiences- I love being able to give back and also share the love I have for my home with others. I have also been blown away by the kindness I have received as a surfer! I love the couchsurfing community and am thankful for the people I have met through it- some of whom have become life-long friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While in Italy October 2015, I was having dinner with my sister when we met some men who were also dining. Only one of them spoke English and he was about 70 years old. When I told him I was from Maine, USA he started to freak out. He ended up telling me a story of how he has been trying to contact a women who lived close to my city 50 years ago (that's a long time!!). He hasn't had any luck. Anyways, long story short he gave us her name and old address and it is my goal to find her when I get back home. He then offered to drive us 3 hours to our next destination. When I asked him if he was serious he said "I've got nothing else to do." We ended up going with him by car and shared laughs and stories along the way! It was an incredible experience and a reminder of how small this world is and how kind the people can be :)
