About Me
Hi fellow couchsurfers,
I am Eline, 28-years old, living in Ghent, a small town in the small country of Belgium, together with my boyfriend (Sacha, 30 y). Unnoticed, life has started to pass by faster and faster lately, so we decided to treat ourselves to the one thing we value most: time. We have given half of our stuff away and stocked the other half, and we will be travelling to Australia and New-Zealand for the coming 9+ months.
We love to move, think and dream. Moving encompasses everything from climbing or swimming some metres, to running, cycling, and hiking. We tend to think that a holiday or a weekend was not a good one if our bodies are not tired to the bones :). Thinking and learning is something we do together with and from friends, family, and strangers. We are particularly interested in how other people see the world and live their lives, and in ways to make our planet healthier again. Eline dreams by reading every fiction book she can get her hands on, and Sacha by writing his own stories. Though not yet publishable, he is also a great storyteller ;)
We find it important to minimize our carbon footprint and try to do so by travelling mostly by train, living without a car, wearing secondhand clothes, and eating very little meat.
We are also quite different though. While Eline needs a bit more rest and quietness, Sacha is energetic and enthusiastic. Eline is a talker, whereas Sacha is a do-er. This is also reflected in our jobs (researcher vs. engineer). We've been told that we come across as best friends, so you won't have to look at awkward cuddling sessions!
We would love to meet you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are rather new on this platform. We will be travelling in Australia and New-Zealand for the next 8+ months. We decided to join CS with the philosophy 'Guide books are too heavy to pack and are inferior to people in showing what a country is really like.'
Most of the time we will be two. But my travel companion, Sacha, is well-behaved and he is not a cat (see about me ;))
