I live and work in lovely Utrecht, the Netherlands, with two cute cats in my own appartment. It's close to the city center but not in it. I sing in a soul choir (wide range of genres but mostly soul, r&b/pop, gospel but also some variety), I also play guitar and write skngs but mostly for only myself as witness ;). I work "in IT", well not really but close enough. I am becoming more and more domestic these days but still like to travel to new places once or twice a year, in group trips or alone or with a friend, every year brings new occasions!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I 'shared an account' with my lifetime-friend Riwfka: together we traveled through the north of South-America. We had real good experiences with couchsurfing and the help you can receive from people you don't even know: the kind of friendliness that still exists in this way is amazing. Also just meeting people (without using their couch) can be very interesting: after all, connecting with people of my generation that have busy working lifes is not very easy when you go exploring a city as just a tourist. The 'exploring' can get a lot more interesting getting tips from the locals, and taking a peek into how your generation lives in other parts of the world. This peek is interesting staying in their houses or just talking over coffee (or tea, or mate de coca, or weird local food that they will make you eat :))
I created my own profile afterwards, and have made contacts through CS, but did not surf again or host (yet). I have friends in many places already so always someone somewhere to visit and of course also I have a working life of my own ;)
