Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For 3 weeks we traveled around in Indonesia. Every night we have spent in a nice CS's house. Best way of traveling EVER!

Second CS experience, I went to London and because all hostels were booked we tried to find a host. Is was more difficult then finding one in Indonesia, but eventually we found one. And again I had a great time CSing.

On a road trip trough Hungary-Croatia-Slovenia we met alot of CSers. We had a lovely time surfing at their places, wandering trough the cities and meeting up for drinks.

Interests

I like music of all kinds, so I go to a lot of music festivals and concerts. My favorite band is Rise Against. Also I play the piano and (try to play) guitar ;)

I also like sports a lot. I like horseback riding, longboarding, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, gymnastics, diving, running,... Animals are another big interest for me.

I love nature, both long hiking trips in the woods and lying in the sun on the beach fit me well :)

Besides my medical studies at university I also followed an evening course photography. So I really like making photos and looking at work of other photographers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Amélie Poulain is my favorite movie of all times!
In general I really like to go to the movies (about once a month). The big screen is my thing, when I like a movie I will go and see it twice in cinema.
As I like my movies on the big screen, I like my music on CD :D It's always nice to have a CD of the music I like rather than to download it.

Books... I love the tales of Peter Rabit (as my grandmother used to read them to me) and other kids stories. Once in a while I love to read a book, I prefer reading in English.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the moments I was overwhelmed was when I took my first dive (except from the ones in the pool ;D). I took my diving lessons at a hotel in Egypt. The first time I went for a dive in the red sea. We only went 6m under water but I felt great. There are no words to explain how wonderful everything looked. The corals, the fish, everything looked so much better then on the documentaries about the ocean. Then my diving instructor signaled a sign to me that I didn't know yet and pointed up. I looked up and there was a sea turtle swimming right above me. This image, a sea turtle on the surface of the sea with sun rays coming from above, was the most overwhelming thing I had ever seen.

Sunrise at Mount Bromo. We had an amazing view, not on the touristic viewpoint. We followed some other tourist to an alternative viewpoint where only about 15 people were sitting and waiting for the sun to rise. It was amazing!
