About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To do instead of regret

ABOUT ME

Well, I'm in my mid twenties, and currently living in the Midwestern United States to help with family medical issues.

I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! I've worked for some amazing world famous tech companies like Apple and Lucasfilm, and I've worked for some tiny family owned restaurants. I've done work in Tech Support, Student Teaching, Dog Training, Waiting Tables, Graphic Design, and more. I'm just waiting for something to really click!

I love to travel and I love to meet new people. I've mostly traveled by car so far; I've driven all over the USA, Seven times and counting now.

I love to do outdoors stuff. I love kayaking, hiking, photography, and sledding if I'm somewhere it snows. I've lived on Freshwater lakes, on the Ocean, in Redwood Forests, and in the desert, and I loved it all.

I'm crazy about dogs, and they seem pretty okay with me too. I've volunteered for the Humane Society and/or ASPCA in multiple cities and states, and am now Red Cross certified in Dog and Cat First Aid!

I live in beautiful home with beautiful people and beautiful animals in a very sweet neighborhood. I don't know how I fell into it, but I'm very lucky to be surrounded by the people and animals and communities around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I haven't participated much yet! We're opening up our guest room to surfers now, and I'm hoping to surf with some people in Ireland soon. Here's hoping I can pull my weight and help grow the experiment!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I've never couchsurfed through CS.org, I have connected with people with either through craigslist, or friends of friends etc when traveling across the United States. I've stayed on farms, in cities, in granny units, and in RVs. I like to believe I'm a kind and considerate houseguest. I certainly know how I'd want my space to be treated, and try to act accordingly.

We have also hosted many people from many places over the years! We've had visitors from the Netherlands, from Australia, from Germany and from France, as well numerous visitors from within the US. I proudly assume they would all say good things about their time with us :)

Interests

I love the water. I used to live on the Pacific ocean where I would go Kayaking to watch the otters.

I'm a huge fan of dogs and animals in general, and get along with them very well.

I'm a bit of a technology and video game guy, although I'm fairly picky. I'll find one thing I like and get really into it.

I come from a big Italian family that loves to cook, and I've been really increasing my range with that recently, much to the delight of my housemates.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? Well now - I love the Talking Heads, the Beatles, Steely Dan, They Might Be Giants, Queen, Bobby Darrin, and Jeff Lynne. I love funk music, I have a big softspot for old crooner tunes and a similar softspot for Disco. Basically I like Rhythm.

Movies? My favorites are probably Dr. Strangelove, Being There, Moon, and V for Vendetta. I love Woody Allen films, I also love the Indiana Jones series, and dig a good comedy. I've always loved the Marx Brothers.

Books? My favorite book now is 1984. When I was younger I was obsessed with the Phantom Tollbooth. I recently read The Art of Racing in the Rain which made me cry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Grand Canyon was amazing. I have to admit that I thought it was all hype, and then I was there. It blew me away, and I'd love to go again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make strawberry shortcake from scratch.

I can teach you all kinds of stuff about computers. I used to do this for a living! Wanna learn how to make posters or flyers? I'm your man! Wanna just learn how to use your new Mac? I got that.

I'm also a pretty good fix-it-man. I'm used to taking stuff apart (Big and Small) and then putting it back together. Computers, sinks, or cars.
