Overview
About Me
From Australia, with German and Finnish heritage. My travelling right now is about learning about my roots and creating a place in the world which fits just me.
I have been vegetarian for 3 years and vegan for 1.5 years, but lately I have been a bit less strict with what I eat (although I never eat meat or seafood). I really love getting to know vegan and vegetarian people to learn about what they think and why!
I am a bit shy and reserved and I don’t like to party much, but I love to make new friends and learn new things. Or, to have my experiences totally challenged by another person’s experiences! Diversity is what makes humans so special and I love to learn about how and why people are different and to learn FROM them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I quit my job to travel! (And now I have no income 😞)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: rnb, soul, jazz, dance, electronica, alternative, indie. I also like different sorts of music from around the world because of the way it opens your mind. I listen to a lot of music but I’m picky about what I really love. Some of my favourite artists would be Interpol, Midlake, Anderson Paak, Jonwayne, Banoffee, and others. But I’m more of a playlist person really 😉
movies: I really don’t like strong violence, no matter how good the story is (unfortunately)! Not keen on romantic films (unless they’re really good) but I like sci-fi, drama, and a good superhero movie (Christian Bale as Batman is my all time winner but Man of Steel comes close). Some other films that I can think of right now are Clueless, Inception, The Martian, and Waitress.
t.v.: I watch sci-fi, BBC dramas, Korean dramas, clever comedy and anything that’s silly enough to make me laugh. I like international films and tv because they’re a good way to learn about other cultures. Some of my all time favourites are Star Trek Voyager, Bojack Horseman, Bleak House.
books: The Road, My Friend Flicka, The Devotion of Suspect X, After The Quake
Reading was my life when I was little and I love books which take me to another world. Although, I’m careful about what I love. Post-apocalyptic, fantasy and Japanese thriller novels are my favourites.
In non-fiction Wild Swans and The Information Diet are two good ones.
games: Xbox. Fallout, Destiny, Mirrors Edge. The PC game The Long Dark is probably my all time favourite though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watched 2 thunderstorms collide over the Nullarbor Plain, also I raised a baby kangaroo for a few months and it was blissful ❤️
In 2016 I made my own harp! It was one of the best things I ever did.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share some music with you and learn about what you listen to! Also I can show you some Australian bands because we have an amazing music scene.
I can share stories and life learning, tales of wonderful things I’ve seen travelling in outback Australia (I’ve been camping with my dad in the Australian bush for my whole life, and it’s one of my favourite things in the world).
I do lots of embroidery and origami so I can help you to learn those - they’re much easier than they seem!
I’d love to learn to dance and how to do woodcarving, and work with dogs and horses somehow.
One of my dreams is to impress people with how many different musical instruments I can play, but I don’t play any right now haha. I have learned piano and violin and I was in a professional choir for 6 years. (Chorus work in Opera is the best!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
The best ever vegan butter recipe!
I can teach some origami that will make people smile 🙂
