About Me
Reading, watching movies in their original language, Lord of the Rings, basketball, musicals, playing the piano, cinema, long talks, loud music, strange places, painting, learning, Woody Allen, laughing, doing crazy stuff with hair, volunteering!!!!!, Tarantino, climbing, hiking, filming and editing, drawing, Harry Potter, growing up, being creative, snowboardingnew faces and point of view; these are a few or my favorite things. (more to come he he)
I could really go on forever I'm just like one of the greatest talkers ever but I do really find talking, especially with those who I don't know, a wonderful and enriching experience.
Smiling is a fundamental part of my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling on a budget? Most of all, no! It's all about getting to know new stories, new lifestyles different from yours: to make a long story short I am going to borrow a famous Proust's quotes "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
I have really met WONDERFUL people through couch surfing and by doing I always amazed by how much, as human, we are the same. I believe man is good and this has been a good way to support this belief! Kind of naive, yes, but I do believe love is always the answer, no matter what.
// I have no problem in hosting people even they/I do not have time to hang out, so no worries about last minute requests/etc, just I study and work, so sometime I can be a bit busy and no answer/say no. But still give it a try! :)
Interests
Sooo I don't like to brag about myself or stuff but just if you want to see if we have something in common:
-basketball: been playing since I am a kid, it's my life, and watching it as well; NBA fan? Here I am! Boston pride;) plus I am into running always
-painting/drawing/sketching: love to sketch building (NY buildings in particular, I know them all), paint quotes, copy Kandinsky's, being artsy as well. All self-taught so any professional tip would be coool
-cinema: as I said, Allen and Tarantino, but in general quirky movies, Boyle and Kubrick (genius!!!) as well, and in general all the classics, and weird quirky things, cult movies,
-volunteering! Part of my everyday life, I try to incorporate it in my weekly schedule because I think it's a moral and civic duty. Orphanage, people with disabilities, homeless canteens, kids, elderlies, building and painting houses... a lot!
-hiking and snowboarding: I grew up next to the Dolomites (check them out on google image!!!) so yes, mountains are part of who I am and, as strange as it may sound, they have shaped me a lot as a person
-learning! I love to challenge myself with learning new things: currently working on Japanese (初めまして!) and piano by myself, which are both really challenging but oh well!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music : The Queen, Green Day, The Killers are my top 3. Add some good old classic like Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, etc etc. and then indie melancholic stuff and italian classics I am too lazy to write them all.
I also really like soundtracks when I find the time, musicals!!, jazz, and some classical music (Paganini above all)
Quentin & Woody are my idols and I have this strange kind of addiction: I cannot really watch new movies because I still want to watch them "one more time". Plus read the above. But I am a huge cinema addict, I love going to the movies and reading and learnign about filmmaking. It's really one of my greatest passions!
I am a huge fan of LoTR, Harry Potter and Star Wars as well.
Reading is my way to take journeys in my everyday life and it's just too difficult to avoid reading a page before going to bed. I am currently working on reading all the great masterpieces plus reading in Spanish (I love Marquez so I am training for his best novel, it's going to be challenging!). Favorite swearing author is... Irvine Welsh. Plus Safran Foer, Calvino, Garcia Marquez, Scott Fitzgerald, Pennac, London, Chambers (does anybody knows him); and when I mean love, I am like LOVE, I absolutely think they are geniuses and I adore them.
Plus, I am fond Ancient Greek and Latin culture, I have studied the languages and I love all the classics, read them and learned them by heart a lot, I really like Catullo, Saffo, Thucydides, Sophocles and Greek lyric in general.
I am also fond of poetry, but I have to disappoint you by saying that Italian poetry is my favourite above all, since as you can tell the musicality in it it's just insane. I try to read a poem everyday. Although I like Wordsworth, Elliot, Shakespeare, the current of poète maudits, Tolkien's songs in lotr that to me are like poems, my favourites are Carducci, Leopardi, Neruda.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I left home and I went for three months in an orphanage institute in Albania to offer my help and my smile to children coming from difficult situations. Did not regret one single bit.
I also have been volunteering for a week in Ecuador building a greenhouse: no electricity, no water, in the middle of the forest, only happiness and great time. Best experience ever!
I have also been living for one year in New York City, working as an au pair, and that's when I felt in love with a bunch of cool stuff: solitude, architecture, wandering aimlessly, sharing secret and pieces of life with strangers. Waiting to go back and live there!
