About Me

// NOT IN BRUSSELS UNTIL 23 JULY // Could be able to host afterwards, but only until 2 August.

My strongest belief is that we cross our paths with a specific someone for a reason. I still don't know how to call this - may be coincidence, may be destiny - but not everything has to be labeled, right?

By meeting people I share a piece of myself and I get something from the person I meet; and by this exchange I discover and improve myself every time. That's why I regard traveling as the vital sap of the human soul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS is surely the ultimate way to discover a city and its culture - but to me the most important part of it is the people. This is such a unique opportunity we all have to broaden our horizons and meeting the smile of another person, sharing experiences and stories, learning and teaching, always in a flow of positivity and good energy :)

Interests

Writing! It's the best way I know I can express myself with. My dream is to become a researcher. I'm very much into politics and economics (having studied European Studies) and this led me to my traineeship at the European Parliament. Continuing down this path I will start studying International Economic Policy at Sciences Po Paris in September.
Going to the woods (I try to escape from the city as much as I can), taking a walk to the hills.. pretty much everything that involves spending time in the nature.
I love clubbing, but sometimes even just a pasta and a film together with friends is perfect indeed.

And then rapping (yes, I'm a girl), going to the movies, cookies, making weird voices (been told I'm good at it..), trying new types of wine (always ends up in the wrong way), taking planes, convincing myself I'll live in NYC (don't ever tell me I won't, I might cry), books and literature, the English language and culture (please don't hate on me for having an American accent), photography, Christmas, philosophy (Nietzsche and Freud have changed my life), everything chocolate-related (give me some and I'll love you forever).

Telling myself I won't be lazy no more one day. It motivates me so much! ..well, to some point.

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to be very passionate about punk and metal music. My favorite bands and artists were Nirvana, The Clash, The Ramones, The Offspring, System of a down, NOFX, Eminem, Macklemore, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Sex Pistols, Bon Iver..
I still enjoy this music but in the past years I have turned more to techno, deep house, disco, funk, and (French) rap.

Donnie Darko is my absolute favorite movie. I used to watch it every six months, it was kinda compulsory for me. I can totally say I grew up with it. Other films I really liked are Into the Wild, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pulp Fiction, Birdman, The Wave, The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Discovering New York City by myself! I have been randomly meeting wonderful people in the streets, queuing in Taco Bell, wandering in Columbus Park - people that I can now call friends. I shared amazing memories with them, sometimes for a few days, sometimes for a couple of hours. But they all changed my life.

Doing an Interrail was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I travelled across five European countries with a few friends and a big rucksack on our backs. And a huge, warm smile on our faces. Somehow, it's been kind of a mystical journey overall - and we loved it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun and crazy stories about my trips!
I'll be glad to teach you some Italian words and recipes - keep in mind I'm not the best cook, but hey, at least I try ;)
