About Me

I'm an almost 27-year-old human who recently moved back to her hometown (Milan) and is currently divided between a software developer job - which I love, but still fails to entirely pay my rent - and various bar jobs and little gigs.

I love my time alone just as much as I love dedicating myself to knowing others and listening to them - as a Libra, balacing stuff out is the work of my lifetime. I refuse to be put in a box: you will find me reading scientific articles about almost any topic and getting angry at people who don't vaccine their kids, but I also love astrology and am learning to read tarot. It took me almost a decade, but I've finally accepted that yeah, things that seem to go against each other can, indeed, co-exist in peace.

This peaceful existing side-by-side is also my way of hosting friends: we can spend a lot of time together or not, the important part is listening and embracing each other's needs, weird as they may be, while respecting each other's boundaries, strange as they may seem. I hope to bring the same attitude to surfers, but I have a lot more experience being hosted rather than hosting so we shall see.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always liked travelling and meeting people from diverse paths of life, so when I joined CS (with a different profile, it was shared with the friend I travelled with at the time) I couldn't avoid being mesmerized by the whole concept.

It's now a few years later, and even as I become a boring, employed and somewhat stable adult, the passion for the unknown remains. Also, I've always thought it was absurd that only rich people could travel, that enirching your soul and your experiences should cost you any money - so if I can reverse that trend even by a microgram, I believe it's worth it to try.

Interests

This is a difficult question for me; I like to keep mind and body occupied with a lot of different things, but I also enjoy relaxing and being surrounded by friends and family when the moment is right. My main interest remains people, whatever path of life they're from

Music, Movies, and Books

Ask me in person and you'll get a 3-hour long list, ask me when I'm drunk and I'll talk about how Led Zeppelin actually resemble Mozart and Amy Winehouse could've been the next big jazz phenomenon.

When it comes to books, my favorite author changes every month. Right now? Goliarda Sapienza and Patrizia Cavalli.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I crashed a wedding in a villa in Portofino just by climbing over a wall.

I drove 5000 km around Italy for a month, without any planning; did it again from Milan through France, Spain and Portugal (8000 km), with a little bit of planning; couldn't stop, did 6000 km again from Venice to Sarajevo and back through Bosnia and Croatia, but went back to no planning cause it's too much fun.

Now I'm car-less and sad, should probably try and crash another wedding

Teach, Learn, Share

Playing the piano and the guitar; cooking Indian food (a friend from Delhi taught me); English (I actually taught it as a job for a while); feminist philosophy (I can mostly recommend obscure books and articles); tarot readings

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love playing music, singing, hanging out and I can chat a hell of a lot about most things - I'm not that good of a cook, but being Italian helps.

I know Milan and my country so can give good tips and contacts.
