I'm a French-American writer and tailor currently based out of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin (about 30 miles from Madison). I grew up in the US -- mostly on the Eastern Seaboard, with no one particular state that I'd call home -- but since the one constant in many years of moving was France, where I was born and where I spent every summer, I moved back after I graduated.

I then followed my partner to rural Cameroon, where we lived for 3 years that are proving impossible to summarize in an About Me section, before relocating to Wisconsin. (We made it through our first polar vortex winter...!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Maybe I'm itinerant because my family moved to a different state every couple of years, but I have a hard time imagining staying in one place for too long. And while I'm wherever I am at any particular moment, I want to see what's around me, what each place has to offer, and to invite those chance encounters that mark you and make being elsewhere worth it. (It's a very tired cliché, but I really do believe that human connection is at the core of why we travel / move / flit about the globe.)

I hope to visit parts of the US that I'm not familiar with, and to do it in a way in which I'm a) saving money and b) meeting people more easily (like by sleeping on their couch...). And I'm on Couchsurfing to reciprocate. For anyone who might be passing through Beaver Dam: we have an apartment with lots of morning light and a guest bedroom with a mattress big enough for two.
