Overview
About Me
“I read somewhere... how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong, but to feel strong.”
Learning to slowly piece together and heal myself by getting out there and setting my soul free to explore the magic in this world.
On a skin-deep level; I'm vegan, I'm often mistaken for a woodland nymph, I live for literature and art and tea and all the unexplored forests.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going to paraphrase Christopher Mccandless here, he says the joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I wish to live by that ideal, to encounter new faces in new places and make that a part of my life. I'm easily fascinated by strangers and their stories, and often time the best friendships I've had come from the unknown; the absolute mystery.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Bon Iver, Daughter, Radiohead, Sigur Ros
Movies: Not really a movie person, but 'the secret life of walter mitty' inspired me to get out there.
Books/literature: Sylvia Plath, Ernest Hemingway, Marya Hornbacher, J.D Salinger, Hunting & Gathering, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The great gatsby.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I embarked on a student exchange program to Turkey three years ago, at a time I was particularly vulnerable and struggling with my mental health. That adventure overwhelmed me with joy, fear, nostalgia and thousands of other emotions limited by language and experience.
I overcame my fears and survived, since then I've been left with an everlasting feeling of fernweh.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an honest and sensitive person, I'm easily bribed with tea, which makes the perfect setting for the best conversations.
I can extend my compassion, knowledge and finite wisdom unconditionally.
