Overview
About Me
In May, I will graduate from Cleveland State University with my BA in Journalism. I currently produce and host a radio show called The Vindicator Hour, edit an arts and culture magazine called The Vindicator and copy edit for a scholarly journal called Reflections: Narratives of Professional Helping. I write incessantly, enjoy engaging in conversation, learning about new people/places/cultures, and I'm a huge foodie. My mother is Italian and my father is Black, so I'm constantly searching for new experiences to help me better understand myself and the world around me. I play guitar, drums, love to dance and sing, am constantly reading and am easily fascinated my seemingly mundane facts/experiences. I want to create a career out of traveling, interviewing, learning, writing and communicating.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm basically a broke college student looking to travel as often as possible to meet new people, experience new cultures, and to find inspiration for my writing. The costs of travel make it quite difficult for me to explore as many places as I'd like, so having the opportunity to share resources with others is quite humbling and in my opinion, helps us as a society to reclaim social capital. Services like this make me appreciate the compassionate people who participate in them. Also, when I travel, I want to get a local feel of new places, not a touristic experience. By meeting locals, that need is definitely satisfied.
