About Me
A Dutchie based in Berlin traveling abroad:
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to discover and experience a lot of different cultures and like to hear stories from people all over the world.
Interests
At the moment I'm researching about the distillation of flowers and essential oils. I developed an interest in scent and going to do research/study perfumery in Grasse, France. I also play koto a traditional Japanese instrument, which I compose my own songs for concerts. I have created a new interest in photography as well. In daily life, I like to document in photographing everything that Interests me.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music can vary from classical music to shoegaze and Japanese punk from the late 70s. What I'm listening at the moment is a lot to David Bowie and Mariah - Shinzo No Tibora.
I'm a big fan of almost all movies of Wong Kar Wai because of his cinematography, Andrei Tarkosky, Jim Jarmuch, Werner Herzog etc. The last movie I've seen was Nocturnal Animals of Tom Ford and I recommend that one if you haven't.
The books I'm reading at the moment: 'A nervous breakdown' by Chekov and 'Kafka on the shore' by Haruki Murakami
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I played with my koto ensemble at the Berliner Philharmonie.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and Dutch.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to cook and share stories over a glass of wine or matcha tea :)
