ABOUT ME
I juuust finished up undergrad and well, the world is my oyster right now! This summer I'm looking to explore in Boston and beyond and take in as many new perspectives as I can.
I'm genuinely excited about a ton of things, and I'm always down to talk about them (Latin American politics! Gentrification! How watches work! Music!)
I've realized that there are so many things that I know absolutely nothing about, and perspectives and ideologies I never ever interact with. So there's learning the basics of physics and putting myself in situations with totally new people in my future this summer!
Oh yeah! I also live in a big co-op type house with 12 wonderful housemates. We compost, make meals together, and do a lot of sharing.
PHILOSOPHY
Personal philosophies are always changing, of course, but there are a few things I do know: I care about people a lot and I believe in action and constantly pushing towards change--but also I believe strongly in FUN, self-care and doing a whole lot of listening to each other.
I also really love finding common ground with people and believe most people really do care about others and are on the same page in a lot of ways!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
all of the traveling, none of the tourism!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
hoping to get more involved! I've heard so many wonderful things & met great couchsurfers, but haven't done hosting yet.
Interests
I like listening, bicycling fast, singing loudly while dancing.
I like coffee and the conversations that come with it, walks through forests or on streets or through open air markets, the changing of seasons and long hugs.
I just finished studying sociology & political science at Boston University, where I also studied gender studies and was involved in lotsa campus activism! Direct action for social justice, yeah!
A few sweet things I've done in the past year are that I helped plan a Do-It-Yourself music and art festival in my Boston neighborhood, did a senior research thesis on the impact of college students & gentrification in my neighborhood, and biked to and from awesome nature from my city abode a whole bunch!
I want to live collectively with others, with a lot of art and sharing but also in a way that is accountable and works to change the world. I want direct democracy, alternatives to capitalism and sharing feelings all the time.

Music, Movies, and Books
All the music! I also like going to house shows and seeing anything from a metal band to psych-pop to whatever on the fly. Music that breaks you, like bon iver, james blake. DANCIN music. Vocal Jazz (I like singing this stuff too!). Been listening to a lot of PS Eliot lately! .
Books: tao te ching, death in venice, the god of small things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent time with the Zapatistas in Chiapas, Mexico! They're a group of mostly indigenous people pushing for justice in southern Mexico and I learned a TON-- especially in their creative new forms of democracy and their own education systems.
Oh yeah, and the Chiapan highlands are beautiful.
