I'm a happy biscuit, a bit of a dork, and a traveler who has not been on the road for far too long! I've spent most of my adult life living in different places outside of the country in which I was born, mainly due to itchy feet and intrepid curiosity :)

Life in Berlin is great, but the world has too much to offer for me to stay put all the time! And what's the point in going on a trip unless you can meet new, lovely people? And even better, since I've gotten to know Berlin so well, I figured I might as well see if I can provide some local tips, tricks and company for explorers passing by this wonderful city!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've know about the platform for years, but a friend recently told me about her great experiences here, and so I figured that since the world is big, beautiful, and full of happy, smiley people I've yet to meet, this is a time as good as any to join and throw myself into the mix!

This year, I am particularly interested in going back to Japan. I've been there a couple of times in the past few years and each time felt far too short. It's a gorgeous country with so much left for me to see, so if there are any people living in Japan who would be up for showing me the local ropes and sharing their culture, I'd be so happy!

Music, Movies, and Books

The contents of my iPod are a hot mess, but I do like happy music. Anything from smooth jazz, electronic pop, classical music, to the occasional banger can be found crammed into my selection. Music is magic!

Some movies that I really like are The Matrix, Arrival, 12 Angry Men, Battle Royal, The Secret of Nimh, Braveheart, Whisper of the Heart, The Grand Budapest Hotel and The NeverEnding Story. So many good ones out there, but I do love the classics!

Books I've read recently which I really enjoyed: The Undiscovered Self (Carl Jung), Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoevsky), Magicians of the Gods (Graham Hancock) and 1Q84 (Haruki Murakami).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm great at finding four-leaf clovers. I've found hundreds of them. It's a totally useless skill. Not sure if it's amazing, but I guess you gotta enjoy the little things!

Teach, Learn, Share

Berlin is a city full of history, culture and crazy secrets, and there really is a flavor for every taste! If you're passing by as a tourist, it's not always easy to find the best spots without a local. My flat is too small to share, but in case you want some company while exploring the town, or want someone to show you some local treats, restaurants and cafés, I'd be more than happy to show you around!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a happy and easy going guest! This is an amazing platform, but I do not take hospitality for granted, so if needed, I'd of course be happy to do my share and help out to keep everything neat and clean! In case you as a host don't have too much time, I'm quite organized and independent and don't mind spending time on my own to explore the surroundings. But if you do have time, I'd be most happy to share stories, experiences and enjoy the local culture together! Also, there's no better way to know a culture than through food, so whether you like cooking together or want to share a meal at your favorite restaurant, I'm game!
