About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy life at the most & live in the present

ABOUT US

We love traveling and discovering new places and cultures. Respect and love our planet. We are both really easy going. Always curious about different cultures/places.

PHILOSOPHY

-Live the present, that's all you have...no future, no past; only right here, right now.
-No religion in particular, but we believe in doing good to others and the universe.
-Karma, karma all the way.
-The less importance you give to material stuff, the happier you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted many people in our home and we are planing to keep hosting a lot more. We enjoy receiving CSers and sharing our place, experiences and culture with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far our experience has been amazing, we`ve met very nice people and had a great time.

A NOTE FOR COUCH REQUESTS: lately we have received some copy paste requests, which we have obviously refused. If somebody would like to stay with us, we believe they should have the kindness of reading our profile. So please include the word LILY in your couch request as a way to indicated that you read our profile and that you'd like to meet us (and not just have a bed to sleep).

Interests

We love nature, most of all the ocean in general. Scuba diving is one of the activities that we enjoy the most. We adore art, sunsets, friendship, peace, yoga, music, underwater photography, nature, surfing, hiking & camping, environment conservation, human rights movements, snowboarding, good wine & rum, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Mostly independent movies, smart and with good lines/story. Few of them: Motorcycle Diaries, Todo Sobre mi Madre, Harold and Maude, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, etc. Love Almodovar and Woody Allen`s films.

Music: Mostly everything, depends on the moment and mood. Few of our favorites: Reggae (Cultura Profetica, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, Gondwana, Groudation), Blues (BB King, Eric Clapton), Latin music in general (Juan Luis Guerra, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Sergio Vargas) and the list could go on and on...

Books: Autobiography of a Yogy, Failed States, The Little Prince, Blessed Unrest, God Was Born a Woman, The Open Veins of Latin America, Sophie`s World, Millenium Trillogy, House of Spirits, and again it could go on and on. We love non fiction books about social, environmental, human rights movements, as well from history and evolution. Well written fiction are always welcome (Jostein Gaarder, Isabel Allende, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Falling in love, being blessed with life, having close family & friends.

Traveling together for a whole year, visiting 30 countries in 4 continents. As well during this year being hosted by more than 50 amazing CSers. Thank you everybody! :-)

Hitchhiking more than 5,000 kms.

Scuba diving at night in Hawaii with around 18-20 huge wonderful manta rays all over us and scuba diving in Belize blue hole. Diving in Sipadan (Malaysia), Komodo (Indonesia), Malapascua (Philippines) and other breath taking dive spots.

And many other things! Etc etc ...life is good!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach you a bit of Spanish & French. To dance merengue and bachata. How to make a mangu (typical dominican dish).

We can learn from everybody something. We are all truly unique persons with something special to teach/share. We are both very receptive.

Share our passion for the oceans, our respect to different cultures, our love to life and always a good laugh :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can offer our cozy little home, advises for visiting Montreal, couple jokes and laughs :)
