About Me

Hi guys, I'm Elise. I'm a Vietnamese student who is currently in London for a 6-month internship.

I was born in Ha Noi, Viet Nam but I spent most of my teenage life in Singapore. Before moving to London, I was in La Rochelle, France for my bachelor.
Since being in the UK, I would love to venture out to see other cities & countries. So hit me up if you are looking for a fellow traveler or would like to have a meet-up!

I'm a super laid-back and easy going person (or I reckon I would like to say so :P). Meeting people from all over the world always excites me since everyone I have met so far never fails to inspire me with their traveling and life experiences.
Sometimes I will go back to Vietnam for a short holiday of one or two months. I will be very glad to show you around Hanoi and learn the real Vietnamese adventure. There is so much to it than just tasting a bowl of Pho and having $0.20 beers on the street.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling has always been my passion but, as much as I hate to say, I'm often caught off because of budget matters. Moreover, when I travel, I would like to stay away from the touristic traps and stay with the local to learn the real experience.

Interests

I'm very much of a food photography person. I like to pay attention to details of my food, and there is no better joy than sharing those delicious looking pics with friends! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Daft Punk, Flume, Daughter, London Grammar, Vance Joy, etc are a few names I'm following right now
I do enjoy vocal trance very much. The one artist that has been my favourite so far is Dash Berlin. Caught him live in 2013 at Zoukout Singapore festival. It gotta be one of the best moments in my life.
I sometimes become an introvert who likes to stay out of the constant interaction with this world. Thus, then I will bury myself in books. I find pleasure in reading fictions. The kind that normally involves someone who eventually has the ability to pull herself and others out of a dark place after a chain of events. I see myself in that situation a lot. Hence, reading about it is like reminding myself things will get better before I even know it could.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just last year - 2014, I opened my own online bakery. Baking has always been one of those things I do whenever I feel stress is climbing up on me. Thus, when I finished my study in Singapore, I decided to move back to Vietnam to start my business. It was such an amazing journey for it did teach me what it would feel like to work hard and earn a living from doing things I loved.
However, after a few months, even though business was super good, way better than I expected, I decided that I was too young to settle down in one place. So I ceased the operation and gave traveling a more serious thought.
Yet, the experience stays with me and I appreciate everything it has taught me.
I'm pretty certain that I will come back to it one day, whenever I feel like I have had my share of exploring this awesome world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a student in Tourism management. However, my interest lies in Marketing or digital marketing to be more specific. I would love to meet people of the same interest or profession. We could have a nice little chat over a drink (alcoholic preferably :P) about this whole digital marketing trend.

I'm also a passionate baker, a bit of a cook. Tbh I'm not 100% comfortable sharing my baking recipes because I have worked my ass off for many years to come up with them. But I'm very willing to share the techniques or the general ideas of them all.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you fancy a homey meal, I'm up for the job :) My friends enjoy my food very much so I hope I could make the hosts feel the same too :)
